Guidespot

www.guidespot.com

This was originally launched with no information architecture; a team of developers designed and built it on the fly. Its usability was extremely confusing. Most users had no idea what the site was about.

My role was to redefine the user experience given the limitations of what had already been deployed. Although at its initial relaunch (Feb 2008) the authoring tool still behaved very much like it was designed by an object-oriented programmer, at least we standardized the behavior of each object and modernized the text tool. Prior to this release, there was no text tool - there was an object called "Headline" and an object called "Note."
